I like the comparison Chirs makes to baseball with the current LA Lakers situation. If Pippen heads South as well, the NBA might as well call the next season, cause no one has a chance. Even if Pippen doesn't head South, but heads East to the Bulls, who are offering him post-career management opportunities, the Lakers will walk over any team they face. In similar news, Mourning is going to sign with the Nets, which will help keep Jason Kidd in the Jersey area. Mourning v. Shaq could be an interesting Finals matchup and may give the East a chance to win for more than a game or two. No word yet on Pippen, who is waiting for the Blazers to hire a new GM. In other Blazer News, they announced the camp roster, and if I were Paul Allen I would make sure that no one makes brownies. (Hear that Qyntel? No Pot! Don't be stoned. Good boy.)

Update They found out what that blob was.

OK, dammit. Who cares about the Wolves of Carra? Stephen King needs to get his ass to work on the Gunslinger series. I've been waiting for years for his to come out with the next book. If anything, that is the next book he owes us. I've said it before and I've said it again, I think his fans should sue for damages... we've bought the second and third books, wasted times reading it, and now are stuck waiting and waiting.

So, after months of complaining about not having a friend who has a weblog, I finally have one. Figures that it is better than mine. I mean his posts are funnier, longer, and all around better than mine. One the bright side, he did let me know about free slurpee day tomorrow. Jeff, meet Chris, Chris meet Jeff. You've met before, a long time ago in a world far far away. Actually, you are both in that world right now.

Oh, and about that movie you mentioned, Chris. Not the Matrix. No, not Terminator. Not Spellbound. Not The Two Towers. Not The Return of the King. The other one. Fountainhead. That's the one. Did you notice when I said that it was one of my favorite books? I haven't seen that flick, but after this whole bar thing is over, I will have to check it out.

Did I mention that I hate this bar stuff. I had a slight freak out last night. Anyway, Congrats on the page Chris. I like it. Way better than mine. I need to get a server so I can use more/any pictures.

This is me on an active post day. Anyway, big news! Okay, maybe not big news, but I feel like I am in the know. Family Guy is killing Leno and Dave in ratings. Almost every night I watch Adult Swim for the first hour. It features Futurama and Family Guy. Both excellent shows. I like their new advertising scheme. I was going to do a post about how they "stole" my whole brackets thing ( [Blog Goes Here] vs. [Adult Swim] - you decide), but it seems a bit overdue. Anyway, I was distressed to note this weekend that the same hour block was on the Superstation. I realize that Cartoon Network is owned by Turner as is Superstation, but it seems that the Cartoon Network has something good going by being the exclusive shower of the episodes. Why saturate the market? Speaking of Adult Swim, I am also a big fan of Home Movies and Harvey Birdman and Sealab 2021 (very racey, very funny). Speaking of:

You are Quinn. The true brains of Sealab, 6
doctorate degrees doesn't keep you from getting
hurt often enough. However, your PhD in sex-
ology is well deserved.

Which Sealab 2021 character are you?

So, Alice has come back to post anew. Recently, she listed some advice for new bloggers on how to get the readership up. Being as I have no content (note that none of my posts are ever more than a paragraph or two) I really don't expect much of a readership. (Big Props to those four of you that stop by on a regular basis.) Might I suggest the following as well:

Use Sitemeter: While I use Sitemeter, I am sure there are other similar services. Basically, this is good in that it lets you know who is reading your page and how they found it. I've noticed that others use Technorati and it seems to work well for them. One of the nice features is that it tells you who has linked you and when. Here's an example: Example.

Have a Theme While I don't have a theme, I've found that the best blogs have a theme. For example, Hose Monster often uses Victoria Secrets pictures to "pretty up" his page. On the other hand, The Trademark Blog has a content theme of dealing only with trademark law. These type of things make people more likely to hit the bookmark command while looking at your page.

Travel the Web Keep up to date on things that matter to your theme or to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

It came from the deep. Maybe. It is one thing made of two things that came from the deep. Genetics hits the pet store. It used to be in the deep. Disney, the company that plundered the public domain, is causing the plunder of the ocean. And finally, They are in it deep. How can one lab have so many muck-ups?

Blazer-mania? So, the Blazers are in the news. Let's see, first Gary Payton will sign with the Lakers for the 5 million dollar exception. Apparently, in contract negotiations with the Blazers, he was demanding 4-years, $40 million. So basically, he really didn't want to be here. In other Blazer news, the Blazers cut 1/3 of the stadium staff in order to cut costs. Why do they need to cut costs? Because if they cut Mr. Dumbass, I mean Damon, it will cost them about 45 million. I used to be a big Damon fan, but c'mon, 3 arrests for marajuana in less than 2 years? Trying to carry pot in metal while going through a metal detector? Not learning your lesson when the cops found pounds of the stuff in your house? Not sick of people saying you are a Jail Blazer? At this point, I want them to trade him for a second round pick or whatever. Just get rid of him.

Vermont The State that is the home to Ben and Jerry's and not much more. I just got back from the trip. So let's see....

On July 4, I drove up to Sedro-Woolley to visit Suzanne, aka LA Girl. The trip went really well. On Friday, we played games and hung out and then watched the Sedro-Woolley fireworks. It was my first time where people had "illegal" fireworks. Many of the individual firework displays were almost as impressive as the city fireworks. On Saturday, we hung out some more and she had a party for her friends. At the party we did some pottery stuff and it was all a good time. I had to leave in a hurry because I misread the time-sheets. I got on the plane at 10:30 pm in
Seattle and at 10:20 am Eastern Sunday I arrived in Vermont. Montpelier is a small small town. The smallest state capital in the union from what I hear. The interview went okay. I really don't want to talk about it, but I will say that the rejection arrived here before I did. My impression of Vermont: Small, remote and unpopulated. I can't believe that they have two Senators. Let's combine Vermont and New Hampshire and make one real state out of two fake states.
