Akili Smith goes to Green Bay. The Packer colors are the same as the old Oregon colors, so that's cool. Most importantly, it looks like he has a legitimate shot at making second string (though its not as if that means much as Favre never sits out a play). The other back ups are no names (not that Akili has made a name for himself other than for being a bust in Cincinatti). I really hope he shows the world that he can play and that he was worth a high pick back in the day.

Science can be fun Nature reports that Sosa's cork may not be much help. Basically, it appears to be simply physics: What you gain in speed you lose in mass. (ie He may swing faster, but he loses mass in the bat so the momentum force would be about the same.) Nature also had a report of Hippo eating early man. Check out CNN's synopsis. Oh, and being a computer whiz and creating your own search engine can cost you your life savings. But none of this touches this: You can build your own CRUISE MISSLE in your backyard!!! Maybe I will turn down that stereo after all.
Ack... you know its been too long since you did any real web design when you have trouble recalling how to post a picture....I am not sure I was ever aware of how to 'form' the text around the picture...
Anyway, I am getting this in the mail anyday now... It is my first Amazon aquired item.

Go Bradly its your birthday I really haven't gotten to read to much about sports this summer, but here are three headlines that caught my attention today....
First, Akili is going places. Good to see a former Duck having a chance. Second, Neuheisel gets the boot. About time. I hate that guy. There may be a parade here tomorrow. Eugene hates him. Thirdly, Mr. Cota is considering retirement. Another Duck has made good.

Ok, so Camworld was like one of the first websites I ever visited after starting a blog. Anyway, just checked it out and they have the same hope I do regarding Pump up the Volume. Come on... someone start one.
Oh, and tomorrow's my birthday. Send best wishes here. That is all. Happy birthday to me.....
How I spent my Sunday.... I slept in until 10 (had a bottle of wine by myself with dinner the night before and it turned into a late night) and then got up and did some multiple choice questions. Then I got my headset with its evidence CD and took my essay book and went on a several mile walk. It was a gorgeous day and I found a park that I didn't know existed. I went to McGrath's for lunch and had the appitizer combo basket, did an essay, and walked home. I sat around for a bit and then went on a bike ride to that park and listened to the last evidence CD. As the sun went down, I went to the park right next to my house and did another essay. I then came home and played some on-line poker and won. Then I watched a bit of South Park and Adult Swim and went to bed. And so begins another week of bar review.
