Brokeback Mountain, Meet Zack and Slater

I haven't seen Brokeback Mountain yet, but will someday. What I have seen is Brokeback by the Bell. Funny stuff.

Day Two

If the first place horse in a ten horse race was named "I'm gonna win", the second place horse was named "Close but No Cigar" and third was named "Third Times a Charm", what was the last place horses name?

Glue.

Made up jokes

Beginning today, I am going to try to come up with a joke a day. Not someone else's joke. I am going to make up a joke. (Except for days like this weekend where I will be away from a computer).

Today's joke was derived when I started with the line "Three pickles walked into a bar..." and eventually became this:

A pale looking guy carrying a pickle walks into a bar. The bartender asks the guy what's wrong. The guys says.... (wait for it, wait for it)....

"I'm feeling a little dill."

Badum bum.

Yeah, it sucks, but it is a first attempt.

But Can They Do It With the Star Wars Cast?

Some Battlestar Gallactica fan Simpson-i-fied (I just made up a word) the cast of the New BattleStar Gallactica. These look really cool and very professional. It's amazing its just some fanboy's work and not preps for the show.

When is hitting for the cycle a bad thing?

Last night I played softball, and played just okay. The first game I hit a few singles, but misplayed some balls in the outfield as I had problems judging the balls in the air. The second game, I played a much better game. My first at bat I hit a home run. My second at bat I hit a double and got to third on an infielder error. My third at bat I got a single. Sometime between my third at bat and my fourth, the teams fought over the home-run rule (no team can have more than one more home run than the other team (X+1=Y))since the other team hit a home run which gave them two more than what we had, thereby making the home run an out. Anyway, there was a big hullabalou and the ump almost tossed out our pitcher. (This is the same ump who earlier in the game said something like "You should pay more if you wanted umps to cover the bases" when he made a bad call at third.) Anyway, I hit a deep drive to left, but it stayed in the park. I come around and score for the inside the park homerun when the ball gets there late and the catcher doesn't tag me. I start celebrating until I realize the ump called me out. He claims the catcher tagged me on the hip, a place I most definitely would have felt had I been tagged. The other team essentially conceded I wasn't touched. I suspect this ump made a make-up call. This left me with a triple and the cycle. Instead of scoring and having one less out, we had no runs and an out. In the end we lost by two.

So, to the ump who makes call without seeing them, I say "Should we have to pay more for an ump to watch the game, period?".

Good Times

This weekend was a great time. I went to Sunriver with some friends who had rented a house out there. I was amazing how much Sunriver was like home but so not home despite only being 16 miles from where I grew up. I was really reminded how great Bend is. We went hottubbing, played tennis, went through the Skeleton Caves, drank, played board games, played foos ball and generally had a great time.

And did I mention the deer that practically ate of our hands? Yeah, that was cool too.

I wish I had something deep to say about how Sunriver was home but wasn't at the same time, but I don't think I can articulate it better than that.
