March Madness So its that time of year again. Best time of the year. For those of you who don't know about Bracketville, let me tell you something. Getting an 8 or 9 seed is actually a punishment and getting an 10 or 11 seed is a reward. How is that, you may ask. The winner of the 8-9 game gets to play the 1 seed in the next round. 1 seeds are good. Really good. Best teams in the nation good. Teams with a 10 or 11 seed don't have to play a 1 seed until the Sweet Sixteen. That is a huge advantage because while 2 and 3 seeds are good (this year in the West they are spectacular), they are a notch below the 1 seeds. And the longer you have to wait to play one of these 1 seeds, the better your chance that they lose on the way in a miracle game. Why do I bring this up? Because the Ducks got screwed. They have to play Kentucky in the second round. Kentucky is arguably the best team in the nation and has won like 19 in a row. Good luck on getting to the Sweet Sixteen.
It's Friday Night and I Just Got PAID Actually, it is Monday morning and I only get paid once a month. Friday night I went out to help Jane celebrate her birthday. We drank and played pool and watched as Jane got really drunk. Saturday night was the annual cocktail party. This year's attendance was much lower than normal. Oh well. Afterwards, Wes, Brian, Conrad and I went out to the HBC. I started a conversation with the manager/owner of the HBC and he told us that it brings in $100,000 PROFIT A MONTH. The man is a millionaire, but looks like he is a white trash slumlord. He gave us VIP passes for a video release party. May go, may not. Sunday was fun. First watched the bracket release show (which bummed us out a bit) and then had a live fantasy baseball draft. That was a good time. If you made a bad pick, you had to go get beer for everyone.
